The Company:

Our client is a phenomenally successful international company that distributes its own internally developed AA+/AAA multi-platform video games in RPG and FPS genre across the world. Their catalogue features widely praised series that have collectively sold over 7 million copies throughout the world. The studio is currently developing several major cross-platform video games.

Key Responsibilities

Delivering a first-class experience, taking initiative, and maintaining passion for high quality work, is required for this rewarding yet often demanding role.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Be the primary point of contact across the business for planning on all product release timelines, submission planning and executing successful business strategies on first party stores.
  • Maintain and champion a comprehensive Release Calendar to aid in cross-team and cross-org release communication.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of all products within First Party portals, from initial concept stage through to final release and post-launch support.
  • Provide technical support and help inform product decisions with development teams.
  • Actively plan multiple scenarios to ensure that stakeholders are aware of all of the potential outcomes of actions, allowing them to make informed decisions.
  • Own the submission process, including: code delivery, required documentation, taking point on communication and waive requests.
  • Deliver stakeholder reports on status of each product, current risks and long term tracking towards release.
  • Review assets and meta data used for digital storefronts and retail packaging to ensure that it meets internal and external requirements.
  • Work with the internal QA team to review quality of the title throughout development, assess submission readiness and monitor customer issues after release.
  • Perform regular meetings with extended publishing group (marketing, licensing, sales, community) in order to assess their requirements and deadlines, with a view on how these relate to development and product release.
  • Carry out regular risk assessments at all stages of a product’s life-cycle in an effort to catch problems early.
  • Implement scalable processes to accommodate variable release size and complexity.
  • Maintain awareness of all team projects and major initiatives/goals.
  • Contribute to improvements with release procedures, to make them more efficient, scalable, consistent, visible and less error prone.
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with first party contacts, keeping abreast of changes and understanding how these will affect the business.     

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience with release management, first party storefront management, game production or equivalent
  • Experience with submission process, store portals for one or more partner platforms (Microsoft, Sony, Steam, Nintendo)
  • Knowledge of technical requirements and tooling for one or more partner platforms (Microsoft, Sony, Steam,Nintendo)
  • Expertise and understanding of project management tools (Jira, Asana, etc)
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office (Word,Excel, Teams, Project)
  • The ability to remotely co-ordinate multiple teams and projects in different time zones
  • Methodical approach to work
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to listen carefully and respond appropriately at all levels.
  • Excellent proficiency in English
